Travel Abroad

Our practice nurses will be pleased to offer advice to registered and non-registered patients alike.  However, many vaccinations needed for travel are not provided free of charge by the NHS and a charge will apply to cover the cost of the vaccine, the prescription charge and the consultation.

We are are a registered Yellow Fever Vaccination Centre.

We are an approved centre with the Muslim Council of Britain, providing the recommended conjugated meningoccocal (ACWY) vaccine to protect Hajj and Umrah pilgrims from meningococcal disease. For more information on this vaccine, visit the Muslim Council of Britain’s website www.mcb-vac.co.uk

To allow adequate time before your travel for vaccines to take effect, make an appointment no less than two months before your travel date.

If you fall ill on your return, don’t forget to tell your GP where you have been and whether you have had treatment whilst abroad.  Also, if you are donating blood you will need to tell the transfusion staff where you have been.
