Test Results

Whenever possible, test results will be discussed with you after a test has taken place. If it is not possible to discuss test results with you immediately, for example if a blood sample has to be sent off to the laboratory for analysis, your clinician will explain when you will receive these results. If asked to ring for the results, please contact the receptionist after 11.00am and she will either book a telephone appointment for you with the clinician or ask you to make an appointment.

Our receptionists are not medically trained and can only pass on what the doctor has told them so please be patient and do not press them for further information as they will not be authorised to give it.

Generally speaking:

Most blood test results are available within five working days (ie not including Saturday and Sunday)

Most x-ray results are available within a month

Cervical smear tests are posted directly to the patient within eight weeks
